For my second post from the archives, was this post from January, which was probably one of the hardest posts for me to write. It was the first time I wrote and published my story about my accident. It was hard to hit publish and it was probably hard for people to read. Some of my friends and family who knew about my accident hadn’t heard the details in this way before. As I mentioned last week, my doctors ran several tests and sent me for several scans to try and find out why my incision line kept breaking down and wouldn’t heal. I was also placed on several antibiotics in addition to topical treatments that I used in an attempt to heal.

One of my doctors, Dr. Cross, is a wound care specialist and she was placed in charge of my care because she knows wounds.

As I mentioned, I finally had my prosthesis surgery to get my prosthesis put in. I was so happy to get through this milestone event. I had big plans coming up and I was determined that I was not going to miss out. I had to miss out on a lot of events after the accident, but my friend Jenn was getting married at the end of August and I was determined to go.
