Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed colouring! For me, it has always been a quiet and relaxing activity that leaves me with a feeling of peace and contentment. As I have grown up, my love for colouring had continued and it is an activity that I often utilize in my work. We would often pass out colouring sheets to our students as a way to get them to calm down and I always used that opportunity to centre myself.
It is no wonder that the latest trend for relaxing and de-stressing has been to pick up a colouring book. These days there are so many to choose from that are geared specifically for adults. From books to postcards there is something for everyone.
I recently came across the group Story Planet who regularly run a Wine and Colouring Event, out of their Story Planet Cafe. Story Planet is a non-profit storymaking centre that is dedicated to helping young people through innovative programs which are designed to ignite their imagination and fuel their curiosity. Their Wine and Colouring nights work to raise money to support their after-school art programs for disadvantaged children. On Friday I was able to attend one of these nights (tickets always sell out FAST!) with my good friend Kamila. Wine and colouring? A perfect way to spend a winter Friday night in the city.
Getting our Colouring On
This event is a great opportunity to hang out with your friends while supporting a great cause. And who doesn’t like to colour?? The cafe serves coffees and teas but you can also purchase other adult beverages such as wine and beer. Small snacks are set out on the tables and all colouring items are provided. If you would rather bring your own tools and books, feel free!
Story Planet provides a relaxed and chill environment where grown ups can come and hang out, drink wine or coffee, and chat while engaging in some good old fashioned colouring. If you’re interested and live in the Toronto area, check out their FaceBook page to see when their next event is.

I’ve heard all about this coloring that’s not just for kids. I need one! xx adaatude.com
I enjoy coloring with my kiddo sometimes. However, I don’t think I’d have the patience for the detail on these coloring pages.
I wish I had the time and patience for coloring…I need to learn to make some time and try it out!
I love coloring, especially with colored pencils! I like to color those small spaces.
