Friday’s Fab Finds: Camel Coloured Cape

Happy Friday!! For anyone who celebrates Easter, today is Good Friday and I will be spending the day and the rest of the weekend at my parents house. We always go to mass on Good Friday and again on Easter Sunday. Everyone always comes over to my parents house on Easter Sunday for a big dinner but this year there is a twist – I’m going to be making the dinner!!! Before my family freaks out – my mom will be teaching me how to make the dinner exactly the way that she does. So don’t worry, there won’t be any gluten-free bread in the stuffing and no chia seeds will be involved!! šŸ˜‰

Now, onto the outfit. I love capes!! They are such a chic alternative to a coat on a cooler day. I found this one from SheIn and I loved that it came in a camel colour. Unfortunately it’s now sold out but they have another cute camel cape with a hood that also comes in black!!

Camel and Black

Since I wanted the camel cape to be the centre point of the outfit, I kept the rest of the look pretty simple. I just went with a simple pair of plain black pants and a black sweater so that the cape would stand out. For my accessories I continued with the camel/neutral theme by pairing it with my leopard print clutch and heels. I feel like these heels are going to be my new favourite shoes!!

Funny story, this is actually the second time I shot this cape for the blog. The first time I shot it when I went back and looked at the photos there was no way that I could use them!! Wearing a cape in photos can be tricky – what do I do with my hands?? where do I put them?? Well, in the first set of photos I had them clasped in front to show off the details of the cape… and it looked like a pregnancy announcement!! I am SO not pregnant now or anytime soon!! So those photos were definitely deleted!! These shots were a lot better in comparison but it was still a tricky look to shoot.

As you can tell from my photos, I am still getting used to shooting with my new DSLR camera. It can be a challenge using a tripod and the one that I currently have is older and it’s not sturdy enough for this camera. I definitely need to pick a new one up over the next few weeks. It was also FREEZING outside when I was shooting!! Umm, I thought that it was spring? The calendar might say spring but the temperature sure doesn’t!!

I hope that you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!! Enjoy your chocolates from the Easter Bunny!! šŸ™‚

Charlene xoxo
