Back in April, I took a trip to Erie, PA with the fam – for a little shopping of course! I will be posting some of my fab finds over the next little while and also showing them off on Instagram. Today I want to talk a little bit about a place I love to visit to pick up some great finds! Burlington Coat Factory is an institution and I always visit there on my trips to the US. I have picked up a number of items over the years that remain in my closet and are consistently brought out and put into rotation. What I love about Burlington (and Winners) is that they are great places to pick up trendy items that you are not sure about and want to test out for less than the department stores. Two of the items I picked up on this trip were a kimono and a faux fur vest. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this kimono appear in a few OOTD posts. I really like the bright colours and how easily it goes with everything. In these pictures I wore it over jeans and a tank, but really you could wear it over almost anything.
The faux fur vest was really an attempt for me to push my fashion boundaries. Anyone who knows me would know that this is outside my comfort zone. This year, I have really been making a conscious effort to bust out of my fashion rut and this vest is one way for me to do that. What I like about it is that it is reversible which gives you even more ways to style it. I wore it a while back over a sweater dress with the fur side out and I have to say, I really liked the look. It’s way too warm these days to wear this vest again, but I will definitely pull it back out once fall comes and the temperature drops.
There are other pieces that I picked up at Burlington that will make an appearance here and on Instagram at another time.
Happy Friday!!
