Welcome back from a long weekend!
Yesterday was Family Day here in Toronto, and I spent the day hanging out with my parents, brother, sister-in-law and niece and nephew. What a great way to spend a freezing cold day!!
Now that the holiday is over and it’s back to work, I am busy spending some time this morning planning out my schedule for the week. This is something I do every Monday (in this case Tuesday) morning. It helps me to figure out the best time to get everything done that I need to. This week I am starting a new project for work that is going to keep me pretty busy over the next few months, so I really need to get organized and plan everything out.
The first thing I do is pull out my Live Simply agenda
and I make sure that all of my appointments are listed and that it is up to date. Then I pull out my white board calendar
(I got this one at the local dollarama)
and I make sure that all of my appointments are listed there as well. I display this calendar next to my computer so that I can see at a glance what my day/week looks like. Finally I fill in my weekly white board
(from the dollar tree)
where I plan out what I will get done when. I like using whiteboards to track my tasks. This way I can just erase it when I am finished. Or if something doesn’t get finished, I can move it over to the next day.
(this is what my home office set up looks like)
This is how I manage to organize my busy life. What strategies do you use? Let me know in the comments below.
