One of my goals for 2016 is to shop less and to get more out of my closet. So I am undergoing a #noshop and a #closetremix challenge. To that end I am looking at creating outfits that mix and match different pieces in my closet so that I can get more wear out of my existing clothes. For this post I picked two pieces (a tank and leggings) and styled them in two completely different looks. By just swapping out a few pieces you can take this outfit from comfy and casual to a dressier look.
The high-low hem over-sized sweater is one that I have had for several years and it is constantly worn on repeat. It is so soft and comfortable! I wore it before layered over a skirt but this time I wanted to wear it with these coated leggings. The sweater is long enough in the back to cover my cough assets, but in the front it needs a little something. I wanted something with some colour so I chose this floral halter neck tunic tank which has appeared a few times before on the blog. A printed scarf around the neck amps up the cozy aspect of this look while also providing a nice contrasting print to the florals. Of course I had to go with my OTK boots at least once more before the snow and salt mean they have to be put away for a few months.

This look is perfect for a casual weekend vibe. I would definitely wear something like this if I was going to Netflix and chill all weekend long. Speaking of Netflix, I just joined and I am so excited about all the shows I can catch up on!! I am slowly working my way through old episodes of Scandal (I’m at the end of last season) so that I can catch up to the live episodes.

For the dressier look, I lost the sweater, the scarf and switched to a pair of booties. I love these green suede booties, but like the OTK they won’t get much wear during the winter months. I added a coral blazer to pick up the colour of the flowers and belted it to give my waist some definition. Since I wasn’t going to do another scarf for this look, I added a statement necklace of gold and pearls.
I love being able to find items in my closet that I can rework and create different outfits! It really shows you how versatile pieces really are.

Those boots are fabulous! The color is just perfect. I always struggle when I look for OTK boots because i’m so petite.
