Ireland Travel Diary: Touring Dublin

At the end of the summer, my parents and I headed over to Ireland for a two week trip. It was wonderful!! One of the first things we did was spend the day touring Dublin.

Our tour of Dublin was on one of our first days there. We took the bus in from my Aunt’s house and spent the day sightseeing. As you know, one of my favourite ways to sightsee is by walking. So, with a pair of cute sneaks on and my trusty camera I was good to go!!

Can you tell that I like to take pictures of castles and churches?!? One of my goals for this trip was to take lots of pictures of different places around Ireland. Especially the older castles and buildings. As I was touring Dublin I definitely managed to work on this goal.

I never even knew that there was a castle in the heart of Dublin city! It was only because we were walking along to St. Patrick’s cathedral that I saw it.

For this day trip, I didn’t have a plan on what we would do. I decided to be mindful and in the moment. Being in the present moment helps you to see things that you might have otherwise missed. My mom lived in Dublin for a few years and even she didn’t know about the castle!

It guided our day and it turned out wonderful! See why walking is one of the best ways to sightsee!!

We did a fair bit of walking on this trip. In fact, I’m pretty sure I wore my dad out!! On our next day of sightseeing (coming to the blog soon) he stayed back at my Aunt’s house. Poor guy.

Dublin is known for it’s shopping, pubs, and nightlife. As you can see here, there is so much more to Dublin! The next time you are in the city centre, make sure you save some time for sightseeing.
