It’s Beginning to Look a lot like Christmas

It’s hard to believe but the Christmas season is finally upon us!! I’m finishing up my last course for my Masters program (Whoo Hoo!!) so it has been challenging to find time for blogging and Christmas shopping – thank goodness for online shopping and Black Friday & Cyber Monday sales!!

The bulbs for my Christmas lights burnt out last year so my roommate and I decided to go out and get some new ones – and a lot more!! We ended up getting a new (fake) tree and a ton of decorations as well! We definitely love Christmas!! Our old tree was a little sad looking. He was small and a little on the skinny side. We lovingly referred to him as the Charlie Brown Christmas tree though of course he wasn’t that bad. He was a little crooked though.

We headed out to Canadian Tire and ended up going for a pre-lit tree this time. Where have these been all my life!! My parents always use a fake tree so they have had theirs for forever. I think we have had two different trees in my lifetime. Neither of which have been pre-lit. Such a time saver! This tree is also a little taller than the last tree, I had to lie down on the floor to get some of these photos.

Since we were getting a new tree, we decided to change up the decorations and we came up with a whole new colour scheme – Tiffany shades of blue and silver! We managed to find all of the decorations for the tree at Canadian Tire as well. They had some really lovely decorations! We didn’t want to overwhelm the tree but we ended up with about a hundred ornaments in total. As you can see it was just the right amount for our tree. You should have seen us decorating! As time went by we kept standing back to look at the tree and make adjustments to the ornaments. It took us almost two hours just to decorate the tree!

Well worth all the effort!

After Canadian Tire, we headed over to Bouclair – a home accessories and decor store. They have great little odds and ends for decorating your place at great prices! If you are in the market for some lamps, mirrors or decorative cushions to spruce up your pad they are the place to go to!

Apparently another theme of ours was reindeer – we bought so many things with reindeer’s on them!! We already had one from before which we still used but apparently decided he needed some friends. FYI – we put back several decorations and yet we still ended up with a ton!

Our third (and final) reindeer!

Christmas is my favourite time of year! I love decorating (as you can tell) and I love getting time to spend with my family and friends. While I love getting presents (who doesn’t am I right?) I also love giving presents.

I have one more holiday inspired outfit post coming up this week and then I am taking a few days off. I will be back next week with some New Years Eve outfit inspirations posts so stayed tuned 🙂

Charlene xoxo
