Happy Monday!! Welcome back after the weekend, I hope that it was a good one!!
I’ve recently started sharing about my accident (here and here) on the blog and I will continue to share more until my story is done. I really appreciate all of the support and kind words that I have received since I started sharing my story. Thank you to everyone for reading it!
I saw this quote on Pinterest and I knew that it was the perfect mantra for this third Monday in January. The anniversary of my accident is coming up this week and as hard as it might be to believe, so much good has come out of this terrible thing that happened to me. I never would have started this blog and discovered a passion that I didn’t even know that I had. I also would never have started this journey into Mindfulness and it has really made the biggest positive impact on my life.
Mindfulness
Mindfulness is about bringing a conscious awareness to the present moment. As someone who was always shy and socially anxious, I spent way too much time in my head thinking about past events and remembering them in a negative light. I learned through my recent journey that shyness is a fear of the past, while anxiety is a fear of the future. Mindfulness is about being in the present moment and I have found it extremely helpful with my anxiety. It is amazing to me how much changing your awareness can truly impact your life! I have a deeper and better understanding of myself and what I need to be healthy. Mindfulness also teaches you to be aware of what you are consuming in all mediums such as food and even what you consume on TV. You become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and sensations that are occurring in your body and how that relates to your health. I am really excited to continue on this journey and to become trained as a teacher of Mindfulness so that I can pass on my experience to others.
Thanks for reading,
Charlene xoxo

I totally agree. Being more present is one of my goals for 2016. Who knew ‘less multitasking’ would make the list!
