New Look: Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm – Whimsical

I’ve mentioned before, that when it comes to my makeup routine, that I have been in kind of a rut. I typically would only wear lip gloss when going out, always a shade of pink, and the rest of the time it was lip balm. Specifically C.O. Bigelow Rose Salve, which I still use regularly to keep my lips from getting chapped. However, I decided it was time to step away from the light pink lip glosses and try something new.

I was looking for something bright, with impact. So, I did what I always do when picking a new lip colour. I asked myself, “What would Emma Stone wear?” Seriously. I checked out some Revlon ad campaigns, and that is how I decided on the Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in Whimsical. To be honest, I’ve picked up a few shades of lipstick or gloss this way (shrugs). I’m very fair-skinned and so is she, and I hate to waste money on something that I will never wear. I figure if the colour suits her, it should look okay on me.

The Lacquer Balm, is shaped like a crayon, so it makes application a breeze. It is so easy to reapply when you are out. Whimsical has a purplish tint to it. It’s not too overpowering but it does have some impact. I really love the colour on.

I am only wearing one coat here, it goes on lightly but you can also layer it to deepen the colour if you want. It all depends on the look you are going for. The colour lasts a long time, even throughout eating and drinking. Plus because it’s a balm it keeps your lips from drying out which means you don’t need to also carry a chapstick in your purse.
