Recently, I received the Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation free for testing and review purposes from Influenster. To write a fair review, I used the product a few times before writing this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have oily and acne-prone skin so I can be pretty picky when it comes to foundation. I typically go for a powder foundation because I usually find that liquid formulas result in an excess of oil and shine. Not a good thing when you have oily skin!
My skin can also be really sensitive and it will break out really easily if I am using something that is too thick or if the ingredients cause a reaction. Hence the pickiness.
All that to say that the Shiseido Synchro Skin Foundation has become my new liquid foundation go to.

- It goes on sheer. I like being able to build my coverage. Too often liquid foundations can go on pretty thick and I prefer a lighter look. I want to cover up my acne while still letting my freckles shine through. I actually found that I needed very little of the product to get the look that I wanted which is a bonus because the bottle will last longer.
- Matte finish. This is probably one of the first liquid foundations that I have used where my face didn’t look super shiny a few minutes later. The last thing my face needs is more shine!!
- Non-comodegenic. No breakouts!! Always a plus. I have literally used foundation before heading out to dinner and ended up with a big pimple before the meal is over š My skin is that sensitive.
Dislikes
- I found that you definitely need a light touch when applying this foundation. It’s not really a dislike but it is definitely not something you want to use when you are rushing out the door!! I find that some of my BB and CC creams are better to use in the morning for that reason. I will be saving this foundation for when I am going out and have more time to apply and blend.
I would recommend this product and purchase it again in the future. I liked how it matched my skin tone and that it suited my skincare/makeup needs.
Inkstroke Eyeliner
In addition to the foundation I received free a sample of the Shiseido Inkstroke eyeliner. Full disclosure: I am no makeup artist. I can do the bare minimum when it comes to makeup. I can manage a pencil eyeliner but that’s about it.
The Inkstroke eyeliner is creamier liner which came with it’s own little brush to apply it. Having oily skin means that even my eyelids get oily so eyeliner tends to disappear pretty quickly. I tested the Inkstroke out when I was heading out to a party and it was the first eyeliner I tried that didn’t disappear! I actually still had eyeliner on at the end of the night! That is how good this product is.
I have a couple of events coming up so I received these products at the right time.
