Monday mornings can be pretty tough!! I’ve already shared here tips on what to do on a Sunday to jumpstart your week. Now let’s talk about the things you should be doing Sunday evening/night in order to be successful on a Monday morning. Let’s be honest, we could use all the help we can get on a Monday morning.
7 tips to be successful on Monday morning
- Hit the gym: Taking a workout class will boost your endorphins and also work off your Sunday morning brunch. Or Saturday evening cocktails 😉 Plus you’ll sleep better after a good workout.
- Meal prep: I’ve already mentioned the importance of this here. Plan your menu around your outings and schedule for the week. There is nothing better than coming home to a ready made meal! Plus already prepared lunches for the week = score!
- Sit down to dinner: Why not go the traditional route and actually sit down at a table to eat. Sure, eating on the couch sounds fun (and messy) but why not be more intentional with your meals? Sitting down at a table and paying attention to you meal helps you to wind down and to actually taste what you are eating.
- Wind down: Now that dinner is done and your meals are prepped for the week it’s time to relax and start mentally preparing yourself for bed. A nice relaxing bubble bath, a little meditation, find what works best for you. Maybe a face mask or other beauty routine is just what is needed now. For me it’s meditating. I light some candles and put on a guided meditation. Though I also guide myself in a meditation depending on what mood I’m in.
- Light a candle and pick up a book. As the evening turns into night why not pick up one of the books you’ve been meaning to read? The lights from our phones and tv have been shown to interrupt our sleep cycles so spending some time reading instead will help you to sleep better.
- Make a list: take a few minutes before bed to write down any to-do items that are running around in your head. This will help you to clear your mind and set you up with an action plan for the week. win-win
- Bed time: Going to bed at a time that will help you get the full 8 (or what ever number is right for you) hours of sleep by following these tips will ensure that you are well-rested and help you to be successful on Monday morning.
Wonderful tips!! I try to do most of these each Sunday. Preparation for the week ahead leads to success!

Great tips! The biggest for me is down time! I’m the worst at making Sunday at catch up day rather than relaxing!

My hubby just doesn’t get it but I need time to read each evening. It really helps me to unwind and be ready for my next full day.
Meal prepping is definitely the key to a successful week for me. Planning meals and packing lunches ahead of time is super helpful! Great post
I really do need to get better about almost all of these! I have the candle burning part down though 🙂
