I don’t know about you, but once summer comes I practically live in dresses and skirts. It’s my thing. One style of skirt that I love to wear in the summer is the maxi skirt.
Now, I know that maxi skirts can be worn all year long, but I just find that they are easy to throw on and go on a hot day. Besides, if you skipped the razor that day no one will be the wiser! 😉

A High-low Maxi skirt
I recently wore this skirt when I went to the Fashion theme night at Friday Night Live at the ROM. Since this skirt is such a statement piece, I wanted to keep the rest of the look pretty simple so that the skirt would remain the focus. I styled it with a black crop top with lace details (Dynamite, old) and a chain strap purse (Dynamite, old) but added a pop of colour with these ankle strapped heels from Nine West. A layered necklace and some shades and I was good to go.
What I love about this skirt is that there is so much movement in it. It really flys out around you which looks pretty cool! The black skirt underlay keeps you from accidentally flashing anyone your business (always a good thing in my opinion).
Wearing a high-low maxi skirt really gives you the best of both worlds. Business in the back and party in the front. Since the overlay is sheer, you definitely need the underskirt to keep the look stylish without being too over the top.
