A walk in the park

Today I’m sharing some photos that I took on a walk with my mom through the local park a month ago. The park has a trail through it that runs alongside the Humber river. Sometimes, when I’ve had a hard/busy/stressful day there is nothing better than getting outside for a long walk. I especially enjoy it in the fall – I love the crunching sound that the leaves make when you walk on them!

Near my parents house is a bike trail/path where my mom and I often go for a walk. There is a big hill that we have to go down and back up again to get home. It’s great cardio and really works your leg muscles!! It’s really pretty there in the fall when the leaves change colour.

You also never know what kind of wildlife you might run into. Obviously in the water you will often see ducks and Canadian geese are also pretty common here. I’ve seen the occasional rabbit and once I even saw a beaver.

Look, it’s Bambi! One time when we came through here I kept hearing this noise behind us, I looked over and saw four fawn and one doe jumping over the path from one set of bushes to another. They then ran along the fences at the top that bordered peoples backyards. It was quite the sight! Another time we came across a stag standing near the path. We quickly moved on past him, his horns were huge! I’ll admit to being a little frightened of him as I was at a delicate point in my recovery and wouldn’t have been able to move quickly if he charged at us. I imagine though, since the trail is so close to a residential area that they are well used to people.

Taking a walk outside is one of my favourite ways to de-stress – what’s yours? Tell me in the comments below
