Black Friday/Cyber Monday + Floral dress & Over the Knee Boots

Good morning!! I can’t believe that November is almost over! That means it’s almost time for my favourite time of the year! I love the holidays! (Who doesn’t? Am I right?) I celebrate Christmas, and I love decorating the tree, baking cookies, and listening (and singing along) to Christmas Carols. It’s also time to do some holiday shopping with the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales!!

One year, more than 5 years ago, I traveled to Erie, PA with my family to participate in the Black Friday madness. For this trip, I planned out exactly what I was after, I made my lists and I figured out which stores had the items I want at the best price. Everyone was given an item to look out for and I managed to get a few of the things that I was after. Waking up super early. Standing in long lines. Fighting through the crowd to get the item that you were after. Black Friday shopping, or any kind of frenzy is SO not my scene! I went that one year and I never went again. I have to say I am not a fan of crowds. I love to shop but I like to shop at my own pace and get in and get out. Long lines are not for me. Now, I am a Cyber Monday girl.

Shopping online is the greatest invention ever!! You can often find items cheaper online then in store, plus no lines! Who doesn’t love being able to shop from the comfort of their couch? I plan out my Cyber Monday shopping the same way I prepare for Black Friday. I prepare in advance by making a list of who I am shopping for and what gifts I am looking to get. I check out all the different sales to see who has the items I want at the best prices. Plus, I always throw in a little something special for me šŸ˜‰

Not only do I do my research online, but I also scout out the items in person. If it’s clothes I am after, I go into the stores and try them on. This way I can determine what size I need to get and which items are the best bang for my buck. Sometimes items look fantastic online and not so much in person. This way I’m not disappointed when the package arrives at the door.

We do Kris Kringle for the adults in my family, and then we all buy for the kids. On Christmas Day everyone comes over to my parent’s house in the evening for a delicious dinner. My mom makes the best homemade stuffing and cherry cheesecake ever!! Everyone who has ever tried her cheesecake loves it.

I like to dress up for these occasions, I talked about my Canadian Thanksgiving outfit here, and this week I’m going to share outfit ideas for celebrating the holidays. Today I am going to talk about wearing a floral dress and over the knee boots. image

I picked up this 3/4 length sleeve dress at TJ Maxx for $15!! I love the pale pink colour with the blue flowers. I wore it in the summer with a pair of heels but today I wore it with my cranberry hued OTK boots. The dress is long enough that you can wear it with just the boots to stay warm, but I’m always cold so I added a pair of tights. The burgundy faux leather blazer is old from Dynamite but they have similar styles available now. Instead of adding a sweater or cardigan, this blazer is a great way to transition your look into colder weather. The hat I picked up at the beginning of fall, for $40 from RW & Co and I have worn it so many times already!! (LOVE). As you can see, I am definitely loving burgundy hues for fall! This outfit (minus the boots) was less than $100!! These pieces can be mixed and matched with other pieces to create completely different looks. I’ve also worn this dress with a blue boyfriend cardigan for a more comfy and chill look.

Thanks for reading!

Charlene xoxo
