Black Hat and a Blazer

Happy Friday!! This year I’ve decided to shop less and to dig into my closet more. I’m not gonna lie, there is a lot of stuff in there!! Some of it has been there for YEARS!!! So I’m focusing more on using what I have in new ways. Pairing the oldish with the newer to come up with some new looks.

Take today’s look for instance. This blazer has been in my closet for close to 10 years now. The dress? I picked it up when I was in Ireland, in 2011!! It’s actually one of the pieces I referred to in my Galway post. The leopard print clutch is probably my favourite because the neutral print goes with everything!! The boots and the hat are from the summer so they are on the newer side. Each piece has been worn several times before but this is the first time they have all been worn together.

I’ll admit it, I’m kinda obsessed with blazers. I probably have WAY too many in my closet right now. It’s one area where I definitely have no reason to add to. Yet blazers are constantly catching my eye when I am out so I need to be more mindful when I do go shopping.

I love the look of a blazer worn over a dress. Blazers can take the most casual looking dress and just give it that little boost that it needs. Add in some statement pieces and you are good to go.

This black hat pairs perfectly with the blazer. To go off the print in the dress I chose to stick to similar colour palettes with the leopard clutch and the boots. Riding boots with dresses are another fave look of mine. Apparently I have a couple of go-to outfit ideas. Being more mindful when I get dressed in the morning has helped me to not get stuck in this rut. I’ve actually put together some looks lately that were a little outside my typical comfort zone. They will be making there way to the blog soon.

If you are looking for some outfit inspiration why don’t you try adding on a black hat and a blazer to your look? It would look just as good with jeans as it does with this dress.
