Top: Chic Wish, Pants: Similar (here and here), Leopard Print Heels: Target (sold out online, similar), Clutch: Talbots (sold out online, similar and here), Necklace: Dynamite (old)
Good morning!! I realized that with my silent retreat and moving back home last week that it has been SO long since I did an outfit post! (bad fashion blogger) So I quickly grabbed my camera and tripod and worked to correct this oversight.
I wanted to create a black and white outfit using this grid pattern crop top that I got from Chic Wish. What I like about this top is that it’s not too short and it has a looser shape to it than some other crop tops. I’m wearing a size small here but I probably could have gone down to an xs. I like to be careful when ordering online and usually with crop tops I go up a since just to give me a little more coverage. This way the top can be worn to work with a pair of high-waisted pants like the ones in this outfit.
These pants. I LOVE them!! I have had them for literally over 10 years and I will never part with them! They are a faux suede material and the come up to the perfect height on my waist to wear with crop tops. I bought them back in the day when I used to go clubbing with my girlfriends in University and they were one of the only pairs of pants that were long enough for me. I’m not that tall (5’7″) but I have long arms and legs and I often find that pants and sleeves are too short. I can only imagine the struggle that tall girls have!! When I found this pair at Le Chateau, I snapped them up!! Trends come and go but there are certain styles that hang around. Fashion is cyclical and it often repeats itself. When you find an item that you love that transcends a time period it’s good to hang onto it.
Leopard is the new Neutral
Now for the accessories. Since this look was predominately black and white, I wanted to continue with the neutral vibe for my shoes and purse. When thinking neutrals, leopard print is often the first thing to come to mind. I love these leopard print heels that I got at Target awhile back. They are so comfy and cute and they add the perfect amount of style to your look. I kept the leopard vibe going by using my leopard print clutch. I picked this one up at Talbots back in the summer. I had been searching and searching for a leopard print clutch for ages and the Clare V one was always sold out. I was thrilled to find this one at Talbots for less but unfortunately it’s no longer available online so I linked to some other styles instead.
Now that I am settled back into my condo, there shouldn’t be too many more interruptions to the blog. Thanks for sticking around!!
