Happy Friday!! As the Frugal Fashionista, I tend to be pretty frugal š when it comes to buying something new. I like good quality at a reasonable price. If an item is more than $50, unless it is something really special that I know I will get a lot of wear out of it, I’ll probably pass it by. I operate on a cost/wear analysis and I can’t justify spending a lot of money on a top that will only get worn once, when I can find a similar style top somewhere else for less. But sometimes, we need to splurge and treat ourselves to something pretty! š
My accident recovery has had a lot of downs, and very few ups, and as I was gearing up to finishing with one of my biggest challenges, I decided to celebrate by buying myself something that I have had my eye on for awhile. Like every other fashion girl, I have had my eye on a pair of Stuart Weitzman Over-the-Knee boots. So I decided, once I was finished with it, I was going to buy a pair. It had been hanging over my head impeding my recovery so I knew that it was the perfect occasion to splurge on myself.
I tend to overthink everything, so of course I had to do my research first! I visited the Stuart Weitzman store at the Eaton Centre and tried on several pairs of their boots. Poor salespeople. I had gone in thinking about getting the 5050 boots in a grey/beige colour but in order to make an informed decision, I tried on all of the different styles of over-the-knee boots that they had. I noticed that they came in different colours, and a cranberry/burgundy shade caught my eye. Most of my shoes tend to be neutrals, and I have a lot of black shoes, so I thought, maybe I should expand my colour palette and go with something a lot different. Once I tried on the lowland in the cranberry shade, I knew that they were the ones for me. I didn’t end up buying them that first day. I came home and priced them out to see if it would be a better deal if I drove across the border to get them. It turns out it wouldn’t be. With the exchange, once it was converted into Canadian, it would be more expensive than if I just bought them here. It also wasn’t time yet. I had set a date for buying the boots and I was not going to cave in and buy them sooner.
The day finally came, I was able to cross my hurdle off of my list and a few days later I returned and bought my boots. And I love them!! I’ve worn them several times already and they are so comfy and they really make every outfit look so much better! What I love about these boots is that the colour really adds impact to your outfit. You can wear them over jeans or under a dress or skirt. They really can be worn with anything!!

Love those boots!
Thanks!!
I love those boots! I’m pretty excited because I just scored a brand new pair of Stuart Weitzman platform wedges for $50 on EBay!
Score!! What a great deal!!
Love the boots and the color is fantastic. I’m five foot – over the knee boots simply don’t look that good on me!!
I wasn’t sure how they would look on, but I’m glad that I tested them out in the store first.
Glad you got to splurge. Love the cranberry 50/50s. Cute!

Totally agree with the cost per wear idea. I do that often. Loving your purchase.. those boots are classic and chic.

Thanks Karen!
I usually can justify most things when I think about how many times I could wear it! Thanks for sharing! xx, adaatude.com
Thanks! I find that thinking about the cost per wear will sometimes stop me from buying something I’ll never get much wear out of
Those boots are fantastic! I’m definitely one to splurge only every once in a while–when it’s really worth it!

You made an excellent choice. The boots look great with the white sweater dress. I want a pair of the boots now. Okay, the dress, too.
Thank you so much Tami!! xo
