Trend to Try – Orange Lipstick

image

Today I am sharing this orangey ColorBurst balm from Revlon. I tend to play it safe when it comes to my makeup. I’m not a big risk taker and I usually avoid anything that draws too much attention. So you can imagine my surprise when I picked up this orange colour lipstick at Shoppers Drug Mart a couple of months ago! It came in a two-pack with Whimsical a colour that I love. Since it was two for the price of one I thought that it would be worthwhile to try it out. I’ve mentioned before that I pick lipstick colours based on what looks good on Emma Stone in the ad campaign and she happened to be wearing this shade in the advertisement for this promotion. Us pasty girls have to stick together! šŸ™‚ I gave it a try and I actually really like it! It’s a bright colour so I tend to use it with outfits that need more of an impact because it plays off nicely with a neutral outfit. In the outfit below, I am wearing a lot of dark colours, with the navy and grey. The only really colour comes from my bag and my lipstick but it works. I tend to keep the rest of my makeup simple so that you can really see the lipstick. I typically focus on my eyes but lately I’ve become a lipstick girl. A pop of colour on your lips really gives your face a different look. I love the different Revlon ColorBurst balms! I have so many, they are really moisturizing and the colour lasts for a really long time. This one is the Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Audacious which you can see on Emma if you scroll down.

I’m wearing it in this look that’s coming to the blog soon. This shade is so not something I would normally gravitate towards but it was a risk that definitely paid off!
