I’ve discovered over the last year that blogging has definitely become a passion of mine. What started out as something fun for me to do during my accident recovery has developed into something more over the last few months. I spend a lot of time thinking about things that I can do on my blog and planning out ideas for future posts. So much so that I only want to focus on the blog and ignore the other tasks that I have scheduled. Right now for instance, I am supposed to be working on an assignment for school that is due tonight (Sunday), but instead I am pre-writing this blog post for tomorrow (Monday). Don’t worry, I’m too much of a “goodie goodie” to let the assignment slip. I’ll somehow get it all done. (Update, the assignment is finished and before 9pm too!)
I’m going to start showing some outfit ideas for the holiday season. First up is a look that I put together to meet up for dinner with some of my old work buddies. I haven’t seen them in YEARS so it was great to get together before the holidays. While I wore this look to a restaurant for dinner, it could also be worn to a holiday party.
This sweater dress, is literally, the softest dress EVER!! I found it at Marshalls for less than $20 and I’ve already worn it so many times. It also comes in a dusty rose colour and I’ve seen a sleeveless variation there as well.
This faux fur vest, I’ve shown before, which I scored in the Black Friday sales. I like how thin it is so it doesn’t add any bulk to your look. How great is this leopard print calf-hair clutch? I wanted the Clare V version, but it was always out of stock. I found this one at Talbots for less than half of what the Clare V would have cost so I quickly snapped it up and it has become my go-to clutch for going out. Mine is currently sold out but I found a similar one on Etsy or the original Clare V.
These booties I scored on Cyber Monday on sale with an extra 40% off! Green suede booties, how festive! I never knew I needed them until I saw them in the store. These days I prefer more of a stacked heel because it’s so comfortable and I don’t have to worry about my balance. I’m out of practice at wearing heels, I always wore flats to work and since my accident I haven’t really worn heels. The only heels I’ve worn have a 2.5″ heel which is the highest heel I can do right now without falling over.
I went with this silver statement necklace to play off the colour of the dress. A statement collar necklace works really well when wearing a mock turtleneck. I also decided to go with a red lip for more of an impact since this outfit is more of a neutral look.
Let me know in the comments below what you think of this outfit.
