Embellished Two-Piece

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American friends!! I hope that you are enjoying the day with your family, friends and lots of yummy food!!

I wore this outfit recently to a baby shower but it can also be worn to any holiday event. The mom-to-be did not know the sex of the baby, so I thought it would be fun to plan my outfit around the colours pink and blue. I went with this two-piece set from Chic Wish which is probably my favourite thing that I have purchased there! I love a two-piece – they are so versatile. I’ve worn them together so many times, but they can easily be broken up and worn with other pieces. And of course, for the pink, I had to use my Kate Spade purse!

The embellishments on the top and skirt add a little oomph to the look. There is a lot of movement with the two pieces which ensures that you will feel comfortable no matter where you are. There is nothing worse than an outfit that is too constricting when you want to eat a lot!! The top has a boxy cut to it so it’s loose but still has some shape to it. The skirt is a-line, it hangs well on the hips and it isn’t too short. I’m 5’7″ with long legs, so I am always conscious of the length. I’ve been burned before ordering something on-line that has arrived and is a little shorter (pants or skirt) than I would have liked.

For accessories, since the top and skirt are embellished, I skipped a necklace and instead went with this sparkly stud and ear jacket that I picked up from Dynamite in the summer. I finished it off with a simple geometric cuff and ring and my go-to Coach double wrap watch.
