On Friday’s I usually do a post on something that I have found that you can go out and purchase but this week I decided to switch things up a little. Sometimes, in this series I am going to focus on finding things within yourself. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for buying something new, but it can be nice to focus on the intrinsic side of things sometimes.
Since I finally moved back all of my things into my condo recently, I have been going through my closet and drawers trying to make room for the new among the old. What I have noticed is that my style has changed over the last few years. While I’ve been able to spot the differences in my personality, I am only just now realizing that these changes have extended to my wardrobe. My style has definitely evolved!!
A New Sense of Style
When I first started going through my wardrobe, I noticed that there was a lot of black. I was surprised because I don’t typically dress in monochromatic black outfits. I would often wearing a black separate with something in a colour or a print but I had a lot more black items in my closet then was needed. I mean, do I really need 4 black blazers and 6 black cardigans?? Sure, they are all slightly different cuts and sleeve lengths but really, I only wear a few of them.
I also noticed that a lot of my shirts and dresses were loose fitting. I’m not someone who wears a lot of tight clothes, though I do have a few body con dresses and skirts that I feel comfortable in. While I prefer my clothes to be looser rather than tighter these days I am gravitating more towards clothes that are fitted and give me some shape.
Prior to starting this blog I never mixed prints. Now? I’m mixing prints all. the. time!! At first it was something that I had to think about but now I just naturally gravitate towards a mixed prints look.
These days I am also all about bright colours and pairing colour combinations together that I previously never would have worn together. I am definitely creating some interesting looks that I truly love.
And my accessories game has evolved. I am all about the hats!! First because I need to protect my scar but mostly because they are so fun to wear!! A great hat can truly make or break your look.
I’m also embracing different cuts and shapes of clothing. From crop tops to midi skirts all kinds of new silhouettes are cropping up (oh yeah, I went there 😉 ).
With my style changing and evolving over the last year, it is time to take my wardrobe and adjust it to meet my current style needs. I’m doing a major closet clean-out which I will be documenting here. I will also be offering suggestions on what to do with your clothes afterwards. I will even have a guest post from a fellow blogger sharing her tips for re-selling your castoffs! Stay tuned!

Doing a big closet clean-out is so crucial for me too every once in a while. It’s amazing to see how much my style has changed once I look at the items I’m no longer wearing!
Fizz and Frosting
Isn’t mixing prints so much fun! I never used to either – and also had a lot of black – but it just seemed like one day I woke up and started mixing prints immediately. Love all of these looks, girl! Happy Friday! XO

Love this post! Mixing prints is so much fun. You have great style. Style by Liv.
I use poshmark to resell my unwanted clothes – helps me pay for all the new stuff!
I feel like I’ve finally found my style because I like cute tees with jeans. That’s my safety blanket and the usual, but I love dresses from time to time as long as the sweat isn’t easily visible through the shirt. With Arizona being so hot, I need to be conscious of it! xx adaatude.com
Love your style – you make such a statement with each look. I feel that I’m defining who I am and my style as I get older – it’s constantly changing!
