Outfit Post: Suede, Denim & Leather, Oh My!

Today’s look is a little more casual but it’s perfect for running around doing errands and getting ready for the holiday season. I’m combining several textures in this outfit: denim, suede, leather and herringbone for a fun look. Mixing textures is a great way to stay warm during fall and winter without bulking up. When mixing textures, you should start off simple. The colours in this outfit all work together and are basics and neutrals so I added the graphic print scarf for some colour and interest. By staying in the same colour group for the other pieces, it lets you add visual interest to your look with a great scarf. It’s the statement piece of this outfit. The pink of the purse matches up with the pink and the scarf tying the two pieces together.

I started off with a denim shirt, mine is from old Dynamite but here is a similar one. My faux suede leggings are sold out, but these are similar. I bought this scarf last year, it’s so warm and I love all the different colours and patterns! I finished off with this herringbone vest that’s similar to the J.Crew version, which is so popular that it keeps flying off the shelves whenever it comes back in stock. I ended up finding this version in an Instagram shop – VentureFreedom (great customer service!!!). It was my first time buying something from an Instagram store but I had a lot of success with them. My vest must have got lost in the mail but as soon as I let them know they quickly sent out a replacement to me. To finish off this look I added my Kate Spade and my Nine West booties from here – I love them!!
